Bogus Officials / Doorstep Callers.

We want to remind residents to always:

LOCK – Keep your doors locked, even when you’re at home.
STOP – Before answering the door, think: Was I expecting anyone? Check through a spy hole or window.
CHAIN – Use a door chain or bar when speaking to someone you don’t know.
 CHECK – Always ask for ID and verify it by calling the company directly using a number from their official website — not one the caller provides.
 

 Never agree to work offered on the doorstep. Rogue traders often overcharge or do poor-quality work.
 

If you feel unsure, uncomfortable or suspicious, call 101. If you believe a crime is taking place or you feel threatened, dial 999 immediately.
